Fall Flannels

December 7, 2015

In most places in the world, it is way too cold to be wearing clothing like this, but here in Hawaii where winter doesn’t exist I can still wear crop tops and no sleeves. I absolutely love wearing leggings they are simply the most comfortable clothing option when you have a busy day ahead of you. And of course what better to pair with leggings than a cute crop top.

As you can see, my makeup is simple but I darkened my eyebrows a little more than usual and my eyeshadow is mostly bronzes and browns to stick with the colder weather theme. I grabbed some big pearl earrings that are golden although they don’t really look too golden in the picture. I pretty much only stick to gold jewelry since I think gold brings out my hair and eye color.

I wanted to leave my look simple so I just went with black converse and a muted red and blue flannel. The flannel jacket that I have around my waist is actually amazing because it has a really warm lining so it’s more of a heavier layer than I’m used to, but I figured all of you with colder climates would appreciate a layer of warm clothing. I think it’s so important to use layers when it starts to get colder since you never know what the temperature will be like in the classroom you’re in there might be heating so it’s important to be able to take off and put on layers to keep you at the most comfortable temperature.

And sticking with that cozy fall theme, I threw on a beanie. You can obviously wear any color beanie you want to but this grey one matched my shirt and I wanted my only pop of color to be the flannel for some reason.

Overall this outfit is super simple and comfy for when you have a busy day but want to stay comfortable. Throwing a flannel over a pretty monochrome outfit always will brighten up your day without losing that timeless autumn feel. Don’t forget to smile, you look great!

Booty Pants Galore

October 29, 2015

Last week I got a really unfortunate demerit for wearing yoga pants to school (yay for soul crushing dress codes), but I decided to take a hint from my peers and cheat a little bit with the latest and greatest invention…. booty pants! The more technical term may just be patterned yoga pants, leggings, or just soft loose pants. These… Read More

Patterns on Patterns

October 23, 2015

Simple patterned dresses are my absolute favorite. They’re easy, steal all the focus, and it’s only one piece of clothing to worry about. You can also add any accessories, sweaters, cardigans, handbags, shoes, or whatever else you can think of to add some pizazz or to complement the pattern. I personally love clashing patterns but Erika just kept her accessories… Read More

Cozy Denim

October 5, 2015

Okay let’s just talk about denim skirts right here right now. They’re adorable, they’re comfortable, and they come in a variety of washes, colors, textures, lengths, and styles. Kaili is wearing a dark wash, blue denim circle skirt which both accentuates the waist and makes your legs look longer due to the short but pleated style. She paired the skirt… Read More

Muscle Tease

September 24, 2015

Sophia requested a spontaneous photo shoot and she looked so wonderful that I just had to make a post about it. She of course, looks edgy as well as completely fabulous, which is one of my favorite combinations. The color palette, and the muscle tee, suggest a nineties grunge theme, which again I cannot get enough of lately. The muscle… Read More

Layer It Up

September 22, 2015

While we’re in this awkward transition period from the summer humidity to the chilly autumn breeze, there’s always a chance the weather will change on you in an instant. The key to being prepared for any weather is… layering! Leia has layered a simple white tank top over a greyish purple bralette which not only gives a hint of color,… Read More

Scarves For Days

September 20, 2015

When school begins to get more and more intense, my attempt at looking nice begins to slowly descend into sweatpants and messy buns every single day. If you feel my pain then join me on my journey to be comfortable and stylish in the five minutes you have to get ready every morning. Basics are essential if you need to… Read More

It’s Hourglass Hour

September 18, 2015

One of my favorite clothing pieces to wear for either day or night, is a high waisted skirt. The high waisted style accentuates your natural waist and is one of the most versatile items of clothing. The best part is, you can find a high-waisted skirt in almost any color or pattern your heart may desire. While Kelly chose to… Read More

Easy Breezy

September 16, 2015

I love to channel all different eras of fashion, but my favorite thing to do is combine different elements of each and create a whole new style. I used a Marilyn Monroe style halter crop top and paired it with a skirt that for me evokes ideas of poodle skirts combined with adorable pleats that scream 40’s style. The… Read More

Black and White and Stripes

September 14, 2015

For someone whose closet mainly consists of black and white clothes, this is a pretty classic look for me. Let’s start with the Tennis Skirt from American Apparel ($54). It’s one of the best skirts I own. “Why?” you ask, well it makes me feel like I’m straight out of the movie Clueless, and who doesn’t want to be Cher?! The… Read More

By The Seashore

September 11, 2015

The day was beautiful, the sun was shining, the beach was calling… So we went! Wearing my personal favorite type of shorts, the soft and loose ones that look like pajamas but are actually completely socially acceptable to wear in public. Sophia’s top is breezy and light with the addition of the almost seashell-like pattern of cutouts on the back…. Read More
